Pretty good showing from ST'ers Simon Lessing (1st), Mike Caiazzo (7th, way to go Mike!) and Laura Tingle (3rd). Women's race was won by Michelie Jones, with Natasha Filliol 2nd with a killer run split.

I still say that it's stupid to hold a race in Cancun at the very peak of hurricane season. They were fortunate this year...

talked to Jorge M (5th in the 30-34AG) sounds like a very tough day with extreme heat.

Mike is a freak, his training has been spotty as of late and he is feeling the late season burnout, plus it has been chilly in Maine (we rode together in arm warmers and leg warmers last week) and he still races fast in the heat.

Yup it was tough indeed - 96F and 79% humidity making the heat feel like 109F-113F which makes Simon win and Mike 7th place a lot more impressive.

I was told by one of the race organizers that around 20% of the participants DNF
