Does anyone know of some good core and weight training programs, books. Had Ben Greenfields core workouts I bought few years ago it was good, but computer crashed and lost it, printed some stuff from Beg Tri. I am advanced level IM triathlete...slow as hell, but been around 20 years....maybe a core-alation ? Thanks all!

There's a 12 week weight training program thread on here that seems to be pretty popular. Looks legit too.

Check out P90X2. Unlike the original P90X, it's heavy on full body and core workouts and less about looking good for the camera. I currently have some soreness around the muscles of my ribcage,an area I'd never felt DOMS before. Lots of twisting and plank moves. I think it's great for the offseason.

This

Been working through the program and it is really well thought out. There are pullups which I can't do because I suck but I just replace them with assisted pullups or lat pulls. Great program and price!

Check out Mark Loren's stuff. He wrote a book called "you are your own gym" that also has a companion app that's pretty good. I have used YAYOG for about 50 athletes on a team I coached and it worked very well. PM me with your email and I will send you a document to get you started.

I've been practicing Brazilian jiu jitsu. Never been stronger (or leaner) in my life. I gained some weight, though.

Check out a book called "Convict Conditioning". I know the title throws a lot of folks but it's seriously a good read and program. It's focused on body weight training, push-ups, leg raises, pull-ups, squats, bridging, and handstand push-ups. I've never been big on weights or gyms but have been following this program for a couple months now and love it. Very simple, doesn't take a lot of time, and is all about functional strength and not fluff. Fits nicely with a busy triathlon training program.

A glute ham developer, pullups, and hanging from the pullup bar and bringing your feet to the bar. A GHD will humiliate you. Pullups will make you a man. And the last one will make you cry. To avoid unwanted hypertrophy keep reps under 6 and use weight when you can.

PM me, I'll make sure I hook you up with a replacement. Since publishing those workouts, I've since written this book, which has even better workouts, in my opinion: http://goo.gl/tQg24
