My very old but still loved trainer bike, Klein Aeolus, snapped a derailleur hanger on the trainer today. The frame is aluminum, the hanger is not replaceable. The hole that the derailleur screws into just snapped. Is the frame done? It's such an old bike that it really wouldn't make a lot of sense to ship it off somewhere and have it fixed. But I was hoping there would be a way to fix it. Especially if a redneck repair can be done - I live in the sticks, rednecks with power tools are plentiful here. I did see this:

But I wasn't sure how many gears that would cost me. I only have 8 in the back on this older model bike to begin with.
