Brand new Roval 321 bearings grinding
Just took it out of the box. It is a thing of beauty and absurdly light. But when I turn the bearings by hand they feel like they are grinding and they "catch" a little a couple times per revolution. This is usually a sign of bad bearings but in a brand new wheel??

I'm having the mechanic aty shop look at it today, but is it likely toast??

Not necessarily. A few times I've had that, it'd just been some random debris underneath the bearing seal that I could easily clean out (never on a new wheel, though).

Turns out there was an end cap that was rubbing on the inside of the freehub body. My shop pulled it apart, sanded off a rough edge of the end cap and now it's smooth as butter.
