Anyone know what hotel is more convenient to the race; the Hilton at Faneuil Hall or Doubletree Downtown Boston? Looks like the Doubletree is closer, any thoughts?

Yes, of those two the Doubletree is closer to the expo, race finish, etc. But as long as you're near a subway station, I found it all very easy to get around.

I am more thinking about the walk to shuttle in the am and then walk back to hotel after race

I used the subway for both of those. But if walking, the Doubletree is closer for both, especially race finish.
