Best material to put on saddle to keep from slipping around?

I've seen strips of material on saddles to keep the athlete in place. What works best and is it something to buy or we already have it laying around, like KT tape?

Try some skateboarding deck tape. You can get it at a local skate shop or amazon

Several options discussed in the above thread.

1. Strips of aquaseal (wetsuit adhesive)
2. Butyl inner tube stretched over the nose(s).
3. Self sealing silicon rescue tape.
4. Kt tape (as you suggested)

Or you can do the Tony Martin bloody crotch thing and try the skateboard tape.

World TT Champ Tony Martin’s strategy might be a bit much, but this article describes his grippy saddle.

I'd work on your position as you shouldn't be moving around on a good position?

Grip tape, or actually the thin strips that come with it that you can wrap the end with. Use electrical tape to finish your bar tape, use the bar tape strips on your saddle. Mine lasted over a year, and removed with no sticky residue.

^^^This is exactly why I love this place.

I was checking out videos of the self-healing silicone tape (pretty cool!) when I came across Flex Tape. Super sticky on one side, rubberized on the other. Might be perfect. Anybody tried that?

I will pick up a tube of Aquaseal tomorrow at my local Academy Sports and Outdoors store. I suspect it is nothing more than a clear silicone. In the past, I have applied clear silicone (clear aquarium sealant) to the thigh cuffs on tri shorts (yes, long before this became common practice for manufactures to do). It worked well, but by the end of the season, it was chipping away.
Maybe the Aquaseal will hold up longer on the surface of a saddle?

Since it says "Urethane Sealant" right on the front of the package in big bold letters....I think you might be wrong about it being silicone. Jus' sayin'.

It still might not last any longer, but the material is NOT the same.
