Bear encounters
It's my 3rd consecutive ride in the Pacific NW (Seattle area, then Penticton) that I see a bear. Today, I saw a bear with 2 cubs on the side of the road coming down Apex. So, now I gotta ask...what do you do in case of a bear encounter, say if the bear isn't really friendly? Or do they always just turn back and ignore you (that's what happened once on the run too)...

most of the time you shouldn't have any problems with bears - but it still pays to know what to do. to save myself some typing, check this out:

it's also good to know the differences between black and grizzly bears (sometimes they can look very similar). black bears aren't too much of a threat, grizzlies however, are much more aggressive.

Scoop a cub up when you ride past. It will get you some good speed work.
