Another good option is BCG stuff from Academy instead of Under Armour. Quality isn't as good, but get the job done quite well.

Love me some BCG. The price to quality ratio is optimal. I’m sitting here at the moment wearing some shorts and a shirt. My kids like to give me a hard time about nearly my entire non-work being from Academy and much of that being BCG.

I use the UNIQLO Airism tees for work and had the same thought that they would be great for baselayers (a bit too thin and see thru for use as running tees). They come in sleeveless and you can get them in white, black, or ash gray.

I am affiliated, but I can honestly say that these are world leading. Developed together with world elite athletes in XC skiing, cycling, running etc.

The cycling retail market capitalizing off 'cycling specific' clothing. This is a great inexpensive alternative. I like their HeatTech line for the winter as a base layer.
