Bar End Shifters
Quote | Reply
I use Campagnolo Record 10 Carbon components on my TT bike. I am looking for options to replace the bar-end shifters.

- Would the Campy 11-Speed Indexed Shifters work?
- How about other 10-Speed Shifters like the SRAM Red 10-Speed Friction Shifters?
- Or any other type of Friction Shifters?

Thanks,
@Kid

You need to use Campagnolo 10 speed bar end shifters.

Thanks...I should have mentioned, I have been unable to find Campy 10-speed bar end shifters as they have been discontinued. Do you know of any alternatives available that would work?

Do you currently have some broken Campy 10 speed bar end shifters?

No, I think they were discarded so need a complete replacement

It appears to me the cheapest solution would be to get the 11sp shifters and an 11sp rear derailleur.

(Also: my SRAM Red 10sp derailleur works fine with an 11sp shifter. I have of course no idea if this applies to Campagnolo as well).

Any shifters will work in friction mode. Otherwise you’ll be scouring eBay or shelling out for 11s, which will mean new shifters, cassette, chain, and rear derailleur.

Older ones... probably would. Newer ones, no.

I have some ~8 yr old Campy Chorus 11 road shifters. Back then their 10 and 11 spd derailleurs had the same ratio, so were interchangeable. I'm running a Veloce rear derailleur, shifting 11 spd. But a few years ago Campy changed the ratio on 11 spd derailleurs and shifters, so they won't work with your derailleur.

Thanks Clyde,
I actually found these listed on Kijiji last night, and I'm meeting with the seller tomorrow as I live around 45 mins away. He mentioned they are in great shape so probably the best solution all-around.

@Kid

Good to hear! Even better that they are somewhat local to you! I hope they work out for you.

Unfortunately these used shifters had hairline cracks so wouldn't work. Looks like I'm back to the drawing board. Will likely go with friction shifters unless there's any more suggestions/ideas out there.....

Some microshift shifters can do friction mode.

Jtek Shiftmate 3 should work with shimano/microshift 10-speed shifter.
