Anyone Seeing Aero Sensors Showing Up
I placed a kickstarter order for one of the AeroPods realizing it’s not going to be all that it’s claiming to be. This was re-enforced with DCs post as they claimed left/right power balance and then changed their claim.

Is anyone hearing anything from Red Is Faster, Garmin, AeroLab, Notio and now Velosense (don’t know anything)...Is Jon at Flo is working like a mad scientist to make something? ;)

Is anyone else is skeptical about their purchase, has anyone seen anything new coming into the market this season. I’m really interested in wanting a Garmin unit as I realized that the one I should have saved my hard earned dollars.

What do you want from it that it's not providing? I'm confused, the DC rainmaker article made it sound pretty nice.

Just so there's no confusion, you expected the AeroPod to provide L/R power balance data?

I did, as its listed as Left and Right Leg Power. Im assuming this is L/P Power? Isn't it.

I think it's useful to consider how an AeroPod (or any indirect power measurement/estimation device) works. The AeroPod may well be able to estimate power based on speed, wind and grade, but the idea that it can discern between the power you produce with your left leg vs the power you produce with your right leg... well, how would you think that would happen?

I take the table to simply mean that it can estimate your total power from both your left and right leg and that it doesn't simply double left leg power like certain other powermeters/power estimators.

With that said, I would think that virtually every buyer of the AeroPod will be using it with a "real" direct measurement powermeter in order to measure CdA, and in fact John has made clear that he does NOT recommend using a single-sided powermeter/power estimator, as the resulting "data" is not accurate enough to meaningfully tease out CdA.

Got an email from Notio/Argon 18 today, they have 500 available units for North america.

They are doing some type of city tour to offer courses on how to use them.

No, they are saying it gives the power from the left and right legs (not individual right and individual left). They are trying to differentiate from the myriad number of left only products out on the market by including power from both legs (since they couldn't differentiate left and right).

Currently you have to register with the Notio Launch Tour to get a unit, we won't sell directly to customers until the Notio Tour ends.

Missing Seattle/Portland/Bend and all of the PNW seems like a bad move when you are trying to move 500 units at $950.

I understand the impetus to be hands on with the first people you're delivering to, but there are a number of folks on here that have the tech chops to make this work on their own, and are ready to hand you a stack of $$ just for being the first to market with a solid looking device.

Best of luck on the tour. I hope you still have some units left at the end for those of us that are not near a pick up area.
