Ankle surgery?
I posted a while back about suffering from peroneus tendonitis of the left ankle. I've been not running since about June, trying to be good to it. Phys Therapy did not help much; 7 weeks of continuing pain. MRI results finally given to me today, partial peroneus brevis tear. Both the Podietrist and Ortho surgen were there, both leaning me towards immobilization, or surgery then immobilization. Suggesting that if we are going to immobilize it for 4-6 weeks, should do the surgery first, rather than give me 8-12 of total immobilization.

So, this brings me to the question, has anyone had this type of "exploratory" surgery, where the doc goes in and looks around and fixes what is necessary? I realize we are not all doctors here, but maybe someone can shed a little light on this. I've done some research on the net, and waiting for a few articles to be delivered from InterLibrary Loan from foot journals. But I thought maybe first hand experience would be helpful in my search.

Thanks. I just want to go running again...
