According to police, the suspect rented six storage rooms near his residence to store about 5,800 seats, all of which are believed to have been stolen.
But the perp's explanation of his, uh, 'hobby' is oddly hilarious:
Upon his arrest, Suda admitted to the allegations. “About 25 years ago, I started stealing in Tokyo and Osaka to relieve work-related stress,” the suspect was quoted by the Kawachi Police. “After that, collecting became more and more fun.”
But, holy toledo, wait until you see the "collection":
It would be more understandable (maybe) if these were some kind of super high quality saddles, but these are just run of the mill cheapo saddles that typically come on japanese department store commuter bikes. Makes no sense ...
