Ali's bike problem @ Marbella 70.3
Anyone know what went wrong with Ali Brownlee's bike at Marbella 70.3 yesterday? Reports suggesting some issue in T1 cost him a bunch of minutes. He seemed to enjoy the chase, at least, but Dreitz was a long way down the road and powering on by all account.

Cheers, Rich.

I wondered the same. Saw he hemorrhaged time on the bike and dominated the other two legs.

He tweeted:

Great to be back out on a race course. Annoying mechanical issue cost me time at the start of the bike but quite enjoyed the chase when I got going again. @andi_dreitz was flying. Good to stamp ticket for Nice https://t.co/Gmtq41QqEi

Not jumping to any conclusions about Sram AXS... but I wonder what went wrong.

It was a helmet issue from the race tweets.

Does not sound like a helmet issue since he is tweeting about his drive train :-)

Maybe his helmet was tangled up in his drivetrain...
