Abandoning ship
I didn't really want to post this on the main forum however, I get very frequent PMs from many folks here so I didn't want to be rude and ignore everyone.

Little work changes (tenure clock moved one year early...ouch) I need to do a yr and a half of work in 6 months which means, I'm effectively banning myself from tomorrow night until august 31st That means no triathlons either until then (which is good...that means no DNFs either :D)

I'm reachable by email for those who PM me.

Best of luck Francois. I hope you focus, do great work, and get that tenure.

Out of curiosity, what sort of screwed up politics is going on over there? When somebody has to do 1.5 year's worh of work in 6 months, something's wrong. Why can't you say "no" to such insanity?

Bummer, you'll be missed. At my age, I'd tell 'em to take a flying leap, because quality of life trumps money... But then I've only got a short time left to live, so I don't need to save a lot of dough!!

So you'll come back in 6 months fat and outta shape.:-)

This is a very bad sign - you're taking life way too seriously.

You're really not abandoning ship, you've merely set yourself adrift.

The ship will swing by to pick you up on Sept 1.

Until then, I hope you avoid the Sharks and Tsunamis.

Best of luck.

The tenure clock thing is good--right? The 6 months--not so good. I guess you won't be at IMAZ. So, I guess I'll just have to catch you in EP, when I go see the family. We can do a short run, recovery for you, balls to the wall for me.
Bueno suerte.
