A Big Al race is NBS, almost
Anyone in norcal ever do a Big Al race? I think the actual name of his company is Sky high productions. These races are almost like NBS except theirs about 3 volunteers. Anyway, if you havent done a Big Al you gotta try it. I did 2 last yr. Their the perfect newbie race cause usually the swim is in a pool and their sprints. Last yr at the Antioch Super Sprint, we raced four laps around the streets of Antioch on city streets with traffic lights---no cops. If you got a red you had to run it or look both ways at 21 mph and blast through---what i usually did.

If you're used to doing big time races like TRI-Cal or JA productions, give a Sky High productions race a shot---cause its complete old school.

Anyone know anything about this guy?

Big Al has been around forever! In fact, back when I started doing tris (1987), his races were about all there was. There used to be a good one out at Contra Loma reservoir (Antioch). The worst was one over in Marin where we had to swim at low tide so you came out of the water looking like a creature from the black lagoon with mud all over you, and cut up legs from all the shells in the water.

That said, if Big Al would come into the 21st century and get his races posted online, I'm sure they would get huge fields.
