AG Nationals- Rolldown
Hey all,

I'm trying to gauge how far the roll down has generally went at AG nationals the past few years. Is there any way to find that out? I went through results but the only way I figured I could find this out was cross referencing world results to nationals results, but that leaves other variables such as sickness, emergencies, etc.

Any info is appreciated!

Most age groups in most years will roll down to 25th.

No, shit! Crappy news, no pun intended. Hopefully it will clear out, but it depends on how many storms we get between now and then.

Yeah unless it’s a close race this is normally the case. It costs a lot of money to go to worlds and most people don’t feel like it’s worth it.

Will more storms dilute the sewage (assuming that there isn't another discharge) or keep the bacteria levels high? Does the sewage warm or cool the water? :) I'm remembering doing nationals in Cleveland in 1992 and there were issues with competitors getting sick post race.

I think I'll avoid any pre-race swims at the site.

I grew up on Lake Michigan. Usually storms that sweep through increase the bacteria levels of the lake. There are scattered storms forecasted the whole week including Saturday and Sunday. That's not favorable.

I hope its OK to swim. ITU Worlds qualifying has been a bit of a shit show for those who rely on a strong swim to put them into contention. The last two Draft Legal Sprint qualifiers were turned into Du's, too.

Reading that article it sounds like this has been an issue for years. You’d think that would come up as a concern in the meeting with the city.

What would they without swim? Bike - Run or Run - Bike - Run?

Any precedent?

There goes my hope of year 3 in Cleveland being a local..

Thanks for the link. Looking at past high spikes in e coli, the numbers typically drop back to 'normal' / low 2 days later. If there aren't any more discharges this week, I predict (HOPE) the numbers will be safe by race day, which is 4 days from now.

I cant make sense of those numbers... Saw on the local news the newscaster said the race looks to be going as planned and modifications will be anmounced if there are any... Or something like that...

Pretty embarassing display of my hometown to the triathlon world.

Compared to the Browns, I don't think poop in the water is THAT bad...
