Good question. There are a lot of mid-50s nights leading up to the race. I bet Alistair will be saying "oh s#it" if the weather is as cool as the forecast with the pro race starting with the temperature about 60*F and the high barely hitting 70*F by the end. If the forecast holds it will be nice for racing.

Brian,

Guide isn't clear on bags in transition. Are we using bike and run bags as hinted at in the guide, or will bags be allowed at the bike in transition? If we are using gear bags will bag drop be at bike drop off or race morning?

I'd ask this ( or you'd tell us) at race briefing but I'm coming in Friday. Thank you.

Coach Iives in Nashville and he told me to bring my wetsuit.
With the temps dropping this week he's pretty certain it will be wetsuit legal...

I still doubt it will be wetsuit legal. Good advice, tho. I always bring my wetsuit and my swimskin to every race.

That weather report looks promising, especially for us "old" guys in 45-49 AG whose swim wave is last.

Do the 45-49s get access to transition bags and bikes before we start? Or only in the morning 3+ hours before we start?

Am I the only one that wanted temps in the 90's?

I'm with you. Hotter the better! It better be non wetsuit. I'm not a good swimmer, I just hate getting out of that thing.

Coming from ATX, I feel similar, as I go pretty well in the heat, but don't really enjoy it, and would rather race in the 70/80s.

Dan, you could break 4hrs if you did a 70.3 on the sun! Looking forward to you crushing the field this weekend - I hope to be about 30 min behind you. :)

I'm here in Chattanooga. The forecast: temperature dropping. But i also think that will be a non-wetsuit. I bring mine, just in case.

The city is very nice. Loved here. I'm based in Ooltewah. Another nice place!!

Good stuff. I'm excited.... can't wait.

This will be the first race I've used my small chain ring since 2011.

I don't think they'll let it be wetsuit legal. They'll find a warm spot even if water is under 76. I'll be boarder line hypothermic when I get out of the water.

I've been doing my recent OWS in my swimskin just assuming the wetsuit won't be needed. It would be a pain to take it along (from Boston) if it's borderline. At this point I'd just prefer a non-wetsuit swim.

Leave it at home Nate! Let me get a bigger lead out of the water that way i can make it past mile 25 before you pass me!

We'll see! Not sure about this self-seeding thing for the swim start. I guess I'll seed myself based on a non-current swim.

Anyone notice that the bib list is done by first name - seems a bit strange - maybe based on what name is actually printed on the front of the race bibs???

I did notice that. But it looks like the bib numbers are still in order of last name.

I am bringing mine since I am driving there and it's no sweat off my back to have it in the car, but I seriously doubt it will be a wetsuit race. Pretty much 0 chance.
