650c 46-48cm road frames out there?
Built a 49cm 700c road bike for my 5'0 fiance. It still is a bit big for her. Looking for something that would really fit her well that isn't brand new. She isn't serious enough about riding for me to drop the coin on 2010-11 frameset. Any "older" bikes out there come to mind as perhaps being adequate with 650 wheels?

Thanks all.

Cannondale Feminine, Felt FW and ZW, Trek WSD, and maybe Jamis come to mind as brands with 650c road options.
Carbon fiber 10 speed equipped road bikes with 650c wheels can be hand new for ~$1650-1750 in 2011. Older model years or used bikes could be less. Maybe you could sell the oversized 49cm and start over with a new complete bike.

Good luck,

X2, and if you think about selling, let me know ;-) (I ride a 49 and I'm 5'6", more legs than torso)

My wife has just turned onto 650 wheels. Got a Felt B10 48cm, 650's and is seriously blowing the crap out of her times. 5 minutes off her PB Olympic bike split, 10 minutes off her PB HIM bike split in the last month alone (she only got it in March).

She's pretty happy with Felt at the moment :)

Yes of course, I had forgotten that option. The RS is (was?) available for ~$2600 with SRAM Apex if I recall correctly. That is certainly an option worth considering for the 5'0" and under crowd. Once you get near the $3000 price point a host of smaller custom builders are opened up also.
