Hello All,

https://www.bicycling.com/...8/60-ironmans-at-60/

"Will Turner is a little busy at the moment.

The 60-year-old finished an Ironman-distance event in Telluride, Colorado, last Tuesday, drove and arrived at his home in Richmond, Virginia, last night, and is preparing for another Ironman race right there in Richmond. It will be triathlon No. 43—this year.

On January 7, 2018—his 60th birthday—Turner decided to go big with a project he’s dubbed Sixty @ 60, something he had been toying with for three years.

Turner casually mentioned doing six full-distance Ironman triathlons—that’s a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bicycle ride, and a 26.2-mile run—during for his 60th year to a friend three years back. But when the response was that somebody else in Richmond had recently done that, he felt a little deflated. So Turner decided to multiply his goal times 10.

“So I just thought, sixty at 60… and I thought it just had a nice ring to it,” Turner told Bicycling over the phone."

Cheers, Neal

Jose Manuel Lopez and Ricardo Abad have 90 IMs in 1 year and 100+ IMs in one year. Those are the real records. They just dont care about records and publicity to register them with Guinness.

2x Deca-Ironman World Cup (10 Ironmans in 10 days), 2x Quintuple Ironman World Cup (5 Ironmans in 5 days), Ultraman, Ultra Marathoner, and I once did an Ironman.

Ill never understand people calling what they do a record when its really not. When you fully know that you dont hold the real record but somebody else who doesnt care to register it does, i dont know how you convice yourself to tell everyone that u hold the “record” and register it.

For people that don't want to read the article:

"That event was Turner’s 45th triathlon of the year, giving him what he expects will be a Guinness World Record for triathlons completed in a year."

Yeah, no. It costs money to certify with Guinness so most people don't do it.

This is impressive and good for him but it's not on the same level as Jose Manuel Lopez, who isn't on the same level (IMHO) as Ricardo Abad who completed 607 consecutive marathons while also working 8 hours a day doing shift work in a factory.
