Day 27, we are over the hump and looking good.

I had a slow leak in my front tire, forcing me to stop and pump it up a couple times and take it easy on some downhills.

Day 28. Biked. 43:02. Swam 14:14. Ran 27:52.

Glad you made it home without too much trouble with the flat. I hate to jinx myself, but I'm probably due for one. I've had only 1 flat in the last year. Well, I said it. I'll flat tomorrow. Damnit!

Nice job everyone, wife had to go out of town for 3 days here so I'm pretty much sidelined. Will try and get one in tomorrow when they are all in school at the same time...

Another day of mtb riding with the high school kids. They were whining today! Little do they know, when they are out working everyday, how nice it was to only have to ride you bicycle. It's tough to convince some of them that now.

Day 29. Run 28:00. Swim 14:04. Run 30:00.

Schools have early out this week for teacher professional development. Makes me a little frantic to get stuff done. I saved 15 min by running instead of biking. So, I spent 15 min modeling and admiring my new slowtwitch kit. Love it!!

I rode up to Ward, one of my favorite routes here. It's just a nice long gradual climb. It'll be interesting to see what my legs can do tomorrow at practice.

That looks like a tough ride! The final 1.5 miles to Ward (elev. 9,500) is rather steep, yes? That has to be a very satisfying ride. Nice!

Yep, that last bit really let's you know the previous 15 miles of climbing was just a warm up.

I usually continue on up to Brainard Lake and hit 10,000 feet but I'm trying to save a little energy for tomorrow.

Day 30. Biked 40:06, thanks to my super-fast new slowtwitch limited edition kit. Swam 14:07, not in my super-fast new slowtwitch limited edition kit. Are you crazy? I'll never wear it in a chlorinated pool. Ran up Achilles Hill (where I injured my achilles last year) in 31:56. What a day!

I wanted to share some responses I recently heard about this challenge. When I told my hubby that today is day 30, he said, "You're still doing that nonsense?"

When I told my mom a few days ago, she said, "oh, how cute!" She's used to more exciting heroics.

Both responses strike me as funny.

You're not just doing it, you're killing it and you got us all doing at least part of it.

I made it through another mtb practice. We ended our ride going down Betasso link, a white knuckle swear word infested ride for me.

They haven't really noticed b/c I'm doing this stuff when they are at school. I told my kids that today is day 30. My 12 year old said, "That's very good, Mom." The other two kids listened as my son continued, "You're showing strength of character in persevering when you might want to quit."

Now that is cute, much more so than your Mom's comment. At age 12, i don't think i had any idea of what "strength of character" meant, but i guess kids now get a lot more exposure to things in general than they did in years past. :)

I went for a longer ride and for some reason my legs felt great. I wish I started earlier, I would have kept going.

Day 31. Biked 43:07. Ran 30:43. Swam 15:09.

Thank you, Eric & DL, for doing your daily program and posting here. I totally appreciate it. You help my motivation! I imagine you toiling away, miserable and tired. And it cheers me up! I mean, I'm sure you're having fun, and I'm very happy for you.

Speaking of motivation, where is Monty?? Shall we give him the weekend before we try to shame him into getting back into the groove? I'm not sure shaming will work with him, but we can try.

Have a good weekend, guys!

I’m not good at keeping up with social media at all but have followed your endeavours (from the other side of the world) since the start and just wanted to let you know that I admire all of your ‘style’. I love the fact that in worldly terms what you’re doing has no value but to each of you it’s priceless. Keep at it, Bravehearts.

make a difference. today.

Thank you, Andrew! You are very kind and encouraging! I'll remember your message when I wonder why this was a good idea.
