3T Aduro extensions not tight?
I bought an Aduro on ebay, putting it together and the nuts do not hold the extensions even remotely tight. At full crank down the extensions will slide out without me helping them. Using my trusty wrench I run out of threads, still not even close to tight.

Old thread suggested grip paste, tried that, no help. Then chopped up some sandpaper and jammed in... could get it tight'ish but still pretty easy to move with one hand. I guess my next step is cutting up beer cans.

Some of you P5 owners run into this and have a good solution other than the above? Going to be using for Pursuit bike, so they need to be pretty damn solid.

I had a version of this when my P5 was new. The bars were secured more than yours, but they wobbled like wet spaghetti noodles with any force.

The bars went back, checked by Cervelo and 3T here in Taiwan, and new bars were sent as they said the extensions were not made to specifications. I'd talk to 3T and see what they will do.

thanks, I'll hit them up.

After a ton of trials (none of which worked) I cranked on them again... to the point of cutting more threads into the V. At the absolute tightest I can get them by hand they are "pretty secure" maybe secure enough with grip paste. Wild, and I thought the USE Tula's had a fairly poor securing system.

Never had that much trouble on quite a few p5s. Grease auto threads, carbon paste, crank down hard usually results in a pretty solid setup.

yeah, a friend has a P5 and his snug down like you'd expect when I've messed with his.

I suppose it's actually the nuts themselves that are the issue. I've tried a couple of different extensions and both high and low v (which were different era) and all end up loose. I suppose the ring at the end of the nut that's supposed to compress the ends isn't quite the right tolerance, which is why only going so far back compresses it enough. (only one set of nuts to try) The joys of cobbling stuff together ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
