27+ or 29er wheelset for a fatty
Need the bike minds opinion here.

Looking at buying a 2nd set of wheels for my fatty BD bike. Should I get a 29 x 2.2 or a 27+ x 2.8 wheelset.

I'm short (5'6) so no idea how that factors into everything. Fork will be a rigid carbon.

What's the intended use? What sort of surfaces?

are your wheels currently 27.5 fatty or 29 fatty? if 27.5, you can really only go 29. you don't really go down to 27.5+ as far as i'm aware. i also generally would go from fatty to 27.5+, that doesn't really make a lot of sense to me, strategically.

Sounds like its a 29er

You might be able to make 29+ work. The 29x3.0 Bontrager XR2s are really impressive tires IMO. I’ve ridden them on the Trek Stacie a few times and they roll fast and have a ton of grip.

yeah, wife said no.

ordered a set of these: https://www.the-house.com/...fat-bike-wheels.html

Now lets hope they can go tubeless fairly easy. I might upgrade the tires right away.

You couldn't sneak a new bike in if it was the same color ;)?
