2021 70.3 CT
Anyone know if this race is scheduled to happen this coming year (assuming racing returns)? Here is my 'woe is me' story, but I was hoping to qualify for the 70.3 WC at 70.3 Maine this year (I did win my AG in 2019, so I had a good chance at getting a spot), but that obviously didn't happen. I got deferred to 2021, which won't qualify for St. George, as it's only about two weeks before the race date.

Looking at races in the Northeast, there really is nothing, and I'm curious if anyone has heard word about 70.3 CT. I did the CT race as well in 2019, but decided to go with the Maine race this year, as it was a qualifier for St. George. Eagleman is sold out, which would have been a long drive for me from the Boston area.

I know a lot is still up in the air, but I'm hopeful with the vaccine beginning to roll out that racing will return in 2021. I know a lot depends on local governing bodies allowing events to take place, and that is quite hard to predict in the current situation.

Pretty sure it’s not happening. Not due to covid per se, but was canceled altogether after not happening last year.

Is the regular St G race in May sold out? That has something like 100 slots for the WC.

Seems like CT is dead. That’s always been on the brink—seven or eight separate municipalities need to permit it, and none of them derive an economic benefit from the race.

The Florida 70.3s went on sale yesterday. You may need to travel to qualify

I believe St. George 70.3 in May is open too as is 70.3 Florida and there should be a few in Europe...to the OP as long as there is racing and travel (seems possible given vaccine roll out), get your ass on a plane and go and qualify. Most people around the world don't get to do a race next door anyway. Or just quality at a later date and go and race 2022 in New Zealand.

What about the old Mussleman race in the finger lakes? Drivable from Boston.

I live in CT so was really hoping to do this race

Unfortunately CT is essentially an extension of NY in terms of policy, so it'd just never happen with this covid stuff going on
