no, the zero G brakes will not work only the specialized that come on the bike (the difference between two posts and one post)

R&A lists the frame weight at 870 grams, i assume this is frame, but might be frame and fork the complete S-works with SRAM Red is said to come in between 15.5 and 16 lbs.

Any crankset other than the Specialized crankset will need and insert and I am not sure if it would need to be factory installed. the specialized crankset is similar to a head set.

The Specialized crankset's arms are closer together for more power unlike the typical BB and Crankset.

Do you guys think I should get the comp, expert or pro? I will probably train on the wheels that come with it and buy some nice race wheels.

If I get the pro I might just train and race on the same wheels, what does everyone think?

I am a fan of the Comp here is why:

frame, fork, headset, Base bar, aero bar, brake levers, shifters, seat post. brakes are the same on the Pro, Expert and comp.

the seat, and stem are slightly different (stem may be the same)

the BB, cranks, FD, RD, Chain, cass, and wheels are different.

Dura-ace is overrated for the pro

the comp comes with an Ultegra/105 mix. 105 for the FD, BB and cranks which all can be replaced later on.

Go with the comp and buy some HED or Blackwells to race.

Actually, I see there are some blackwells for $1000 over in the classified section.

In that case, go with the Pro. The crankset and bottom braket is very nice and getting great reviews. I did one race on those wheels last year and they were nice to ride and very smooth.

would like to hear from people that has tried the bike, or currently using it. Any comparison to other top performing bikes would be great too.

Thanks!

I have been doing triathlons since 1981 and have been a fitter now for 15 years. In comparison to other tri-bikes out there today,I would say that the 2008 Specialized Transition is stiffer and more resonsive.I still have not seen the wind tunnel dat on it yet so can't say on the aero qualitys of it but just looking at it it just looks fast. Specialized's attention to detail is nuts.
