STers, I googled a bit and still got confused.

I have a full 10 speed ultegra system on my bike. I need a shorter crank and can't find an old 10spd ultegra with 165mm.

Simple question: can I buy a new ultegra r8000 11 speed crankset and mantain my 10 speed system?

Can't speak for Shimano but I did the exact same thing with SRAM red and have had no issues at all... Shifts great and no extra noise or skips.

I ran the DuraAce 9000 crank with an Ultegra 6770 groupset. I used a 10sp chain. No problems.
