J Venga almost ate that rock outcropping. I think more adrenaline was released.

His thought process afterwards may have gone 'I have the Yellow Jersey in Paris en la musette ; no sense killing it for today's stage win --- might be nice, but not worth going 110% when 99% wout do'

Venga is nearly as complete as Pogacar. The two of them are like cycling’s gift to this thread, gonna be epic GC battles for years to come.

Impressed with venga. Incredibly strong ride. likely would have won but he was smart to back off at the end. Would love to see WVA beat the sprinters tomorrow.

I have to pull for Ewan because he's been "through some things" these three weeks. And at the Giro too.

WvA leads WvA out, attacks and counters with a devastating sprint on the Champs.

Kusstanza, LaSporty, WvA, and Venga lead out The Donck for the win.

I'd love to see that. I'm thinking The Donck might be on Wout detail though.

Actually, lets hear some non-Wout predictions for tomorrow. I thoroughly expect him to win, but who do we think can potentially take this?

Lotto has looked terrible and Ewan not so good. They badly need points. I think he could take a desperate sprint.

You have lost before the start. The Donck did not start the time trial. But I like where your head's at.

I'd bet a dollar on Ewan. He's been so far out the back on so many stages, some it because that's all he had, but I'm thinking he's been sandbagging, saving what chips he has for one throw of the dice on Stage 21.

The odds of the The Donck winning in Paris remain unchanged.

Also on Sunday ...

Le Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift coverage on Peacock starts 7:20AM EDT; the Men's finale comes on at 10:10AM

I wonder if Ant is doing both, starting with Hannah, then going to Nico? Or will they let Hannah do Stage 1 of the Women's by herself?

Anthony McCrossan & Hannah Walker start the day

Its great to see this kind of high quality coverage, though they might be overexcited with Iris on the motorbike. Not much really going on, but they can't stop cutting to her. :) I'm sure her coverage will be more useful on a non-Champs parcours.

Wiebes, super smart to be wise to the Vos early sprint.

That went down exactly as expected. Vos is a killer, but Wiebes is far and away the fastest pure sprinter in the peloton.

And right on cue, Wiebes is breaking contract with DSM (for SD Worx).

Is whatever's going on on the men's side now infecting the women? At least they're letting her race the women's TdF, unlike SKA.

Edit: Apparently SD Worx backed a Brink's truck full of cash to Wiebes' house, so maybe this is just Wiebes taking the payday, not issues with DSM.

At least DSM women win races. The men, not so much.

I didn't realize she was moving. In general, you don't hear the same rumblings about DSM from the women's team members.

It's great that Peacock w/Ant & Nico stayed on until Jakobsen crossed the line with just seconds to spare to make the cutoff

Caleb is still on top [?] of the Anti-Podium of Upside Down

I was thinking about this while running this morning, crossing the RR tracks just after the NJ Transit train went by and I saw the taillight in the distance: they can't very well have a Lanterne Rouge jersey, but how about a black bib with a red number signifying "Hey! I'm LAST in GC!!!"

They took my idea even more literally, actually giving Caleb an image of a red lantern to wear next to his regular number

If there wasn't a prize being offered at the end of today, I'd say that's kinda cruel

It's the kind of thing that would normally be taken in good humor. But with Caleb, if he loses the sprint today, and his team gets relegated from the World Tour...

Though speaking of Lotto, kind of neat gesture to see Gilbert riding out front with Wout for some camera time.

Lotto really needs to score some points and salvage something from this race.
