He said after the race his legs felt good but he was still a little hesitant (I can't remember for sure what word he used) after yesterday. It's likely his sprint at the end was to test his legs with an all out attack.

Yeah, seems like a lot of energy to use with little to gain in sprinting for the line. Maybe a show of defiance.
With Kusstanza on the front it finally feels like July.

MTB Olympic Gold Medal, CX World Championship and Tour stage; that’s an impressive career in the span of 12 months.

I've received scorn for saying this before, so here goes again:
Pidcock is the best cyclist of his generation.

Scorn is uncalled for. But maybe an edit: Pidcock may end up being the best cyclist of his generation.
I disagree, though. But without scorn.

I don't know man, CX world Champ, Olympic Gold in MTB, 3x MTB world cups, then add on his road racing.
As a generalist he has to be one of the best going. MVDP might be there with him, but MvDP has 5 years on Pidders.

Houle for the underdog win!
@marcag - Do you have anything to do with his aero road setup? He looks great.

Interesting. I'd have expected Simmons to stick with the group and Pedersen to be dropped. Now the latter has a good chance at the win.

I think Fast Freddy Wright gets it.

Why so much doubt for Pederson? Dude is a boss, the Danes are crushing it at this tour.

On his day, Pedersen is pure class. See his performance at 2020 Gent Wevelgem

If you doubted Mads you don't know cycling. He is a world class sprinter getting to the finish line. Already 3 top 3 stage placements this tour so clearly in form.
And wow 3/4 last stages won by a Dane.

I wouldn't questions echappist's cycling nouse.
I do feel like Pedersen always has a bit of a baby face. Great win for him, I was super stoked to see him get it.

Kuss now owns the KOM on probably the most prestigious strava segment in the world. Could there be a more desirable strava KOM than Alpe D'Huez?

Today's crash seemed pretty major. I hope he's able to continue the tour tomorrow. (Not because of the Lanterne Rouge.). He's had a rough season.

The reason I rate him so highly is because of his savvy. He's a better bike handler than MvDP and line choice is impeccable. No one else knows how to pace a race better. Gets wins over stronger riders by using his brain . Still learning road racing and making mistakes once.
Pretty shocked that noone picked him out for Alpe D'huez. Been top 10 for most of the race while still remaining almost anonymous. He was saving it for this stage. Knows his strengths and attacked with 30 mins left - no coincidence that cx racers metric is critical power for 30 mins. Knew exactly what he was doing and had it planned out.

I'd buy that kit, as long as it is less than the Rapha/Palace kits, the damn crocs are $200 on ebay.

The msrp is $100. But the seller is generous enough to provide free shipping.

Ha! I'm actually a much bigger fan of Wout, but I have to acknowledge a cycling genius when I see one.
