Wanted to but was too blown up after ~115 miles yesterday test riding course https://www.instagram.com/...?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

So no Ibiza on this trip. Instead (sorry fellas) 5 days in Piedmonte filling the gullet with barbera, pizza and gelato, and then burning it off with 5 more riding in Bormio.

Happy for Sammy B.

Bike Path Guy had a helluva ride with the break this morning. Vuelta has good Bike Path Guys. It's like their Loose Giro Dog.

Woodsy is out! That really sucks.

Sanna rocks.

Carl......chapeau.

Sambo is lean and took a great race.

What happened to Woods?

Also, I would love a situation where our politicians worst sin is a dance and drink.

For Carl...how is Finland? I am mostly familiar with Espoo and Lake Bodom in particular. My time there was informing. It reinforced my love of the wilderness and also learned about Finnish folk metal. The Finnish metal was the hilarious revelation. Jari Maenpaa and Alexi Laihio were really neat dudes to meat from a very different background.

Van Poppel doing a great Morkov impersonation the past two days, bailing Bennett out of poor positioning.

Alpecin once again spending questionable energy early.

Jumbo passing around the red jersey.

won't spoil it, but the finish of the Hamburg Cycle Classic is worth a watch.

Shirley, spoilers are allowed here.

Almost in the "not a surprise" category, but Ewan (my pick) crashed out before the finish. Sigh.

Indeed, great teamwork. He also was instrumental in Jakobsen's Euro win. The guy is really coming into his own.

That was awesome. I'm still smiling half an hour later.

Finland was spectacular riding; we knew it was good but everyone from states and Europe was blown away. And for such a tranquil society, their like of heavy metal is quite a dichotomy.

There's a frat house joke in there someplace, I'm sure, or a Led Zeppelin tour bus

A long drive and led me to try to listen to The Move. The conversation turned to Tramadol and JB and LA started to dance. Well, "apparently" this has been used in the peloton.....according to some.......cough cough.......there's this thing called a finish bottle apparently....hmmm, ya don't say......

Meantime, over at the 'Cock, Vandevelde and Bobke had not seen a ride like Bam Bam McNulty's in (forget the race) where he just dropped the peloton and that doesn't happen in "modern racing".

The euphemisms were flying.

Some of these stages are super tedious and a candid conversation about the old "industry standards" might be kind of refreshing. It would include a lot of positive props for how much cleaner the gruppo is now and how cycling did a lot of hard facing up to the systemic stuff that was going on.

Not really seeing the downside to being candid.

"Pass the Jersey 'pon the left-hand side"

Good grief, I hated that song.

It was #1 on the UK charts for a couple of weeks in 1982. Ms Tostig and I liked to watch Top of the Pops every Thursday night, and they'd always finish the program with, "And here's the #1 song in the UK this week!" Yuk.

Sorry 'bout that

I was thinking more of a "Wham Bam, Pass-around Pam" kinda thing, myself

Interrupting the Grand Tour and questionable music for a moment - van Baarle and Kelderman to Jumbo is ridiculous.

They're going to out Wolfpack the Wolfpack in next year's classics.

On The Move's Vuelta preview show, re: transfers

Lance "If I had a choice between getting paid a lot of money to ride with EF, or go someplace else for free, I'd go someplace else; you couldn't pay me enough to be on a Jonathan Vaughters team"

Or words to that effect

I heard CVV say something about a "high-speed descent into La Guardia"

I thought he was speaking in metaphor, but that's actually where they're going LOL

Hayter drives me nuts with his casual tail-gunning. It very nearly ended poorly for him again as he had to veer around a Kern Pharma guy sliding across the road.

Mads Pedersen shows incredible range finishing second to Bennett and Roglic in two completely different kinds of sprints.

Mads sharpening his worlds form. agreed - impressive - i can only imagine that 1 minute power.
i love roglic - should have never doubted him - he must feel he also has something to prove.
That looked a lot more like a sprint than a w/kg aerobic test.
i have to think remco and yates (and most of ineos) are going to be a little miffed that they couldn't show more of their longer effort ability.
i'm guessing the first longer finish climb is going to be ridden at a crazy clip (saturday?)
