Like the shoes, I hope the ratchet doesn't break off like it did on two successive pairs for UKGearMuncher! Also, is Lake Arrowhead hilly? Otherwise why the triple?

mwbyrd, he climbs at 400 watts going only 6 mph up some of the steepest terrain where he rides (Mt. Baldy). I doubt many of us could do without a triple under those conditions! Surely not me.

i went to bigger chain rings when i got the powercranks. it's much easier to learn in a hard gear, then move to high cadence once you establish some endurance.

Yep, you kicked my ass and I'm man enough to admit it :) I still say drop the triple!! And if I only hadn't gotten that flat when you started pulling away from me...hah haa

I'll be in better shape on the 30th, not great shape, but better.

I should have a better advantage if you are riding PC's on the 30th. The last person I rode Palomar with that had PC's bonked and was about 45 minutes behind me. Not trying to make you nervous or anything..

I rode Palomar a few times back in '99, when I was visiting some friends of mine who lived in Gilbert. The memory of those climbs haunts my nightmares to this day ;-)
