"tapering" for a 12/24 hour ride/race

For some reason, I've decided to get on my bike this Saturday at 6:30am and ride until 6:30pm. Depending on how I feel (yeah, right) I may keep on trucking until 6:30am next morning (www.bikesebring.org).

No real "race" goals, other than a nice long aerobic day to keep base building. Plan to bike at IM pace (match 125 HR with 95 cadence) and see the sights.

Anyway, I have no real taper plan other than not riding or running after Tuesday. Anyone have experience in this stuff? I read an old story by Bobo on a 24 hour mud race, so I am planning on bring extra beer but that is more for "nutrition".

Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.
