Interesting.
With all due respect I never understood this obsession with "training on the course", that has caught on in the past few years. We used to never do this. What is the need for all of that? I have raced 1/2 and full IM's blind to the course and done quite well.
In fact, I rode Chip's Rockman Course last summer without having a clue where I was going. About part way through, someone told me it was out-and-back, and that was all I needed to know.
