With all the constant talk of "core" this and "core" that etc...

I'm genuinely surprised no-one has picked up something from the weekends race...

OK, what did I miss, running mechanics? I did enjoy the comments about running form and heel height/lift

is it Carfrae and excellent posture (diminutive size not affected as bad by heat and huge aerobic engine and huge titanium balls willing to crush it) during the entire marathon?

I was surprised at Raelert having so much stuff in his back pocket bouncing around.

is he like that the whole time or only after he started to crater at the end?

if the latter, that is more likely due to brain/heat issues than core strength.

or it is just because he was going so totally fast =)

I think he's sort of always like that. Both he and his brother seem to have a running style that's got a lot of 'swimming" going on.

its stuff like this why I think running style is not worth worrying about. seems like every good runner does it wrong (according to someone) haile's arm, and his pronation, come to mind, paula radclife's head, adreas'...everything.

Bingo.

And I'm not saying there is anything wrong in that photo.

But "core" experts would be all over that photo saying all manner of things.

I wonder how long it will be till someone makes the claim that his lack of "core" strength cost him the title....
