No photos available from my own ride but I can ensure you it looked like this:

And it's winter season around here.

The ride was along the sea starting from our training base to Guincho and back.

Um, will you adopt me? You get some great surf in Portugal. What a combo, surf, train, drink port. Okay time to buy a lottery ticket, this working for a living sucks. Maybe I'll knock over a liquor store.

Ok the photo doesn't really show traffic but THAT'S the problem with bike training around here. Also, you don't have much of a choice to ride.. either you go thru this road or you go to a loop on the "mountains". And that's pretty much it. Two places to ride and not for very long (short loops).

Well.. I guess this' a problem everywhere in the World as long as you live nearby the capital city.

The traffic is a problem everywhere for sure.

Do you do any open water swimming in that ocean?

The view is sure beautiful.

I got hit by a car on the 23rd... which kind of limited the riding/running on Christmas day.

Actually it was a pickup truck being driven by a guy who didnt de-frost his window.

I guess ill be out of action for a few weeks as my knee destroyed his grill.

Oh well.

Although it looks quiet on the photo, it's actually kinda scary in loco. It's the atlantic ocean you see and it's quite good for surfers and bodyboards (we have people coming from all over the world) but not so good for triathletes. Still, we sometimes have a go on those waters. I personally prefer the peaceful indoor 50 meters pool we have. I like to always practice safe-swim :-)

Oh, man! I am so sorry! I feel your pain. Any major damage to the knee? I hope that you recover quickly. Now for the big question: How's the bike?
