Re: kuota k factor sizing [madzuka]

I ride the K Factor in XS and it should allow you to ride very aggressively without fear of toe overlap.
FWIW, I'm even smaller than you, at 5'2". The K Factor has been a great addition to my bike stable.

You might want to send Paul Thomas a PM and ask him. He's the Kuota guy and his user name is his real name.

Honestly toe overlap "issues" are way over rated. Get the bike that fits you, which ever size wheels it has.
I have 2 bikes with 650c wheels (road and TT) and 2 bikes with 700c wheels (road and track) I am even shorter than you at 4'11" AND I have size 10 feet which makes the toe over lap even greater. Honestly it's not a problem, at all. If you are turning at any sort of speed you will be leaning. If you are making say a tight U turn at 5-6 mph just keep your feet at the 12 and 6 position when making the turn.
The only time I had any issue was on my track bike with fixed crank. I've rubbed my foot exactly 2 times. Once when turning at slow speeds to someone wandering around the infield. Since it is fixed I can't move my feet out of the way of the wheel, my shoe rubbed the tire and guess what? I kept going in a forward motion.
The other time I did have one very funny incident (clm will appreciate this) I was rolling off the rail for a points race at Encino (or was it a scratch?) and my foot rubbed my front wheel and I ended up flailing a bit and riding my bike down into the grass on the infield. They official didn't give us a neutral lap (GRR!!) So I had to chase back on and ended up a lap down the whole race :( However I got props from the announcer for my "cyclocrossing skillz"

I did, to one of the advanced beginner sessions and I was SCARED! I sprinted a 20 lap warm up because I didn't want to slide down the banking! I need to get to some of the upgrade races in the spring.

DO you have a speedometer on your bike? I didn't for a long time but found that having one really gave me confidence and put my mind at ease from fear of sliding down track. Perception of speed is SO different on an indoor track do to the lack of wind. When I first put it on I realized what I thought was 17-18mph cruise was really 20-21mph.
I do and that kind of freaked me out in TX as I would go 15 and panic.
