i need a bra
All summer I've been wearing shelf-tank tops as 'my bra'....and I've enjoyed it to the point I hate all my bra's.

I'm an A....teeny. I have a couple Victoria's that for what I paid, suck because they are falling apart. I have one from Target, that is ehhh....

any suggestions? I need to get a few of them that I actually enjoy wearing and are comfortable (aka, I don't know they are there).

Have you tried GapBody? I'm also teeny and the Gap bras are the most comfortable I've found (much better than VS, which I often find have wires that poke at my ribs). But, I just tried the "new and improved" Gap push-up bras and thought they were AWFUL - uncomfortable and poorly shaped. So make sure you try on a few before you buy!

I'm in the same boat, I'm about a 34A. I really like DKNY bras. They are really well made, comfortable, and for department store bras, very inexpensive. I think I paid $34 each for my two favorite ones. I also have some Target ones that I really like and have held up pretty well but if they haven't worked for you in the past I guess I would stay away.

Also, I always stay away from Victoria's Secret, I think nearly everything they sell is poorly-made overpriced mall crap.

I'm an A. My sister just sent me a bra from Gilly Hicks. It's a new line of stores. Their no. 1 goal in bras is comfort. I think they succeeded with the one my sister sent me! It's super!

I assume your talking about sports bras for training?

Title IX Sports used to be a great source for sports bras for all sizes and shapes of people.

And I think Team Estrogen is also quite good with an extensive selection.

You might want to actually phone them rather than just shop online, to get some more informed recommendations about something suitable for you.

Leslie! I found the perfect bra for As this summer at an all women's tri this year. Check out Handful bras, their slogan is "Made to Flatter, Not Flatten" and you can wear them either as a sports bra or as a regular, day to day bra, it has removable cups and is SO COMFY, I actually slept in it while camping this weekend.

Check out their web site:http://www.handfulinc.com/...hant.mvc?Screen=HOME

Cheers!

Okay, now I need a bra! I want something really pretty but would rather skip paying a small fortune for it, or buying a t-shirt bra (which is apparently the only thing that comes in my size). I'm a 38 A but sometimes those are too big, so really a 38AA to 38A.
It's next to impossible to find lingerie in this size, as I guess they assume most girls (women in my case) are pre-teens. Anyone else out there feel my pain? Or have suggestions???!!

Canadian suggestions would highly appreciated toO!

So why switch from the shelf bras?

I hate bra shopping almost as much as swimsuit shopping...

Swimsuit shopping is one of my favorite things to do.
Clothes shopping, I hate.

For some reason I never saw this before. I'm SO going to buy one of these. I'll let ya'll know what I think.

"Why not just stay with the shelf bra's" - cause when I get cold I totally nip out and my hubby makes fun of me, especially since I never notice it....gotta love his comments that seem to come from left field; "cold honey"?

I really like Wacoal 32A / AA depending on how much I've been running and eating. They have lots of padding (you can remove it) that makes my work clothes fit more nicely. I'll second the Gap Body ones for comfort - their shape doesn't look quite as natural on me as the Wacoal ones, but they are comfortable and half the price. Generally, the bra comes off as soon as I get home from work since I don't really like/don't need them.

Oh gawd...I hear you...I can't stand wearing a bra either and it is off the second I get home...sometimes it is off during the drive home! Like you I'm a 32 A depending on how much training I'm doing...sometimes I'm a 32 A--indented--negative A!!! I feel lucky though...compared to my large D cup friend that has to bind herself with ace bandages and then a sports bra so that she isn't in pain every time she goes on a run. That doesn't sound like much fun at all! Anyhow, I just read this post and had to reply :)

swimbikerunski, I've also got a large frame but smaller boobs, and my size tends to be around 38AA (or at least that's what my measurements say). I've always had a hard time finding bras where the cups fit, since 38AA isn't a very common size, so I tend to try 36A instead, since usually the band is stretchy enough. The only non-sports bra that I have right now is from Victoria's Secret, one of the wireless ones, and it's actually reasonably comfortable, but I don't wear it very often so I can't comment on durability. I only wear "real" bras for special occasions and have been wearing sports bras for everyday for years now. My standard sports bra is the Under Armour standard A/B support, and I find it to be super comfy. Anyway, if you're looking for a non-sports bra, I can't really help you except to recommend you get something wireless, since I feel like the underwires don't play nice with small boobs.

I liked these so much, I stocked up on them when they went on sale and now have about 10 of them! http://www.freshpair.com/...ports-Bra-B4246.html

You should try it first, though. I am nearly flat chested due to fat loss from training, and I didn't have much to begin with (34AA now). The 34A fits me fairly well, but I don't like how the straps push down on my shoulders because I have exceptionally wide shoulders. I would think a woman with a normal body would do well with this.

The best thing about this bra is the shape it gives you (no uniboob), and it has removeable inserts to banish the nipple problem.

Forget about swimming with it on during a triathlon, though, as it catches water like a parachute.
