desoto tri clothing - what do you ladies think?
Hi Ladies,

I have my eye on some desoto clothing that is on sale online. I rarely buy new tri gear but i have worn what i have to the point where it has lost its stretch and has holes, so it is time for some new gear. I am looking at the forza tri suit for races, and the mircro top and tri short bottom for swimming. any of you have these? thoughts?

I wear the micro short to race in (if I'm wearing a wetsuit or speed suit), but can't wear it to swim in (the waist band is kinda funky and grabs a lot of water).

I think the micro top and short are what I raced in for most wetsuit tris this wear. Non wetsuit races I raced in a swimsuit. I wouldn't recommend swimming in the micro top and short unless you are
a) looking to create a decent amount of drag from the waist band and water flowing through your top and waist of the suit...
b) looking to pick up a boyfriend at the pool--the suit looks hot/cute

I did really like racing in it. I got tons of compliments wearing it. But I wore it swimming in the pool a couple of times and the water was rushing through it like nobody's business.

Confession time: I am a complete De Soto fanatic... I love this stuff and can't get enough. The Forza line is my favorite, but I love love love it all.

x2.

Now that I have the 400-mile short, I HATE my other non-DeSoto bike shorts.

I have the micro tri shorts but they are too small for me. I need a medium, I guess. They only reach the top of my butt crack, lol. :) They are super cute, though. I bought them because I was thinking about trying to race in a a swim suit and this seemed like a good compromise between tri shorts and bikini bottom. If you are a size small, I'll send you mine. I think they still have the tags on.

FYI, lots of the 2008 stuff is on sale on their website. 400 mile shorts are $66.00! Lots of new cold climate stuff too.... I just dropped a ton of dough there. Pink thermal arm fleece! (what's the plural for fleece???)

Emilio asked me to post.

Hey can you let the thread know the following: Our website states:

This item is not designed for repeated use as a swim suit in a chlorinated pool.

They really are not swimsuits, thus the reason why so many of the women replied that our stuff does not work well in the pool.

Kind regards, Emilio

The micro shorts aren't good for any swimming without a wetsuit or speed suit on top (in my opinion), especially if you aren't purposely trying to increase your drag. I've never used them in a pool, just an open ocean swim where I felt the entire ocean go through the waist band and out the legs holes.

I am mainly a lurker here, but I'm wondering how the Desoto stuff fits? I am generally an xs in most bottoms (Nike/Sugoi/Lululemon) and a wider range in tops as I have a broad upper back. Do the tops fit more like a Sugoi/Nike top where the built in bra band is stretchy or more like Lululemon where its not?

I think there is a size chart on their website. Or, pick up the phone and call them and ask. They have fantastic customer service and Emilio himself may just answer your question.

Since I'm a guy I might not be the best person to answer your question:) But I would do what CLM said.
