Spill!

My goals
run 5x - check mark! - ran 7 times; 45.5 mi
swim 3x - check mark! - swam 4 times; 7400 yds
Tues. yoga - check mark! - did yoga twice; 3 hrs
eating - had 4 good days
Did not end up teaching yoga on Sun. because no one came to my class :-(
rock climb - nope - didn't have a free evening that I had energy

Goals for this week:
5 runs
4 swims
1 ride
2 x yoga + practice the class I hope to teach this Sunday
go to the rock gym once
food goal: no sugar (candy/desserts). My dietician is supportive of this and wants me to work on a plan (ie: if I crave sugar I will (a) wait 20 min? eat an apple? what will I do?) this past week I learned how well DISTRACTION works so maybe that will be part of it.

Have a good week!

maybe she's born with it, maybe it's chlorine

last week's goals:
- stick/foam roll as necessary: should have done a bit more.
- maybe a bike ride? WIN! had an awesome coffee/errands ride with hubby :)
- probably 1 swim: nope!
- maybe 1 short, easy run...if i feel like it! actually did 2 and would have done 3, but the 2nd one made my right ankle hurt so i decided to ditch the weekend run to let it rest.

this week's goals:
- 1 or 2 runs if my ankle is feeling better
- 1 or 2 swims. i'm actually looking forward to going back to the pool
- 1 or 2 bike rides
- 2 core/strength

nothing too ambitious. i may crack out the rollerblades at some point this week, too!

cheers!

Last week's goals:
- Silverman 1/2IM on Sunday - finish sub7hrs (this is a tough course) and feel good/strong esp. on the run; finish with a smile. => DONE with a 6h35. Coulda done sub 6H30 but that's for the rr...
- Swim 2x easy (Tues and Fri at race site?) => DONE
- Run 2x easy (M and W; with strides) => DONE
- Ride 1x easy (~1hr, day before race, to check bike + legs; put in some pick-ups on the ride); => DONE
- Keep on top of the diet - have done well in losing some lbs, don't let them all creep back onto my backside this week. => DONE although I did get pretty plastered (it *is* Vegas afterall)
- Keep an eye on that R hip - we're driving down to NV so make sure to get some stretching/breaks in... => Done

This week:
NOTHING. I will tear down the bike, get the frame redone, put the bike away for a few months, ride off road. It will take some time to want to ride on the road with cars I think.

Great race! I was tracking you all day. Glad to see it went well overall.

I did pretty good this week.

My goals:

Run 5x - no specific mileage or time goals, go by feel.
Except a long run of 90 mins on Saturday. Signed up for a half marathon next Saturday and need to test the legs.
Weights 2x - upper body with some plyo mixed in.
Check into Yoga studios - I want to shake things up a bit.
Stop eating like I'm running 50 miles a week! Jeans are getting
tight :-(

Results:

Ran 6 times for a total of 27 miles. Some very easy 2 miles in there just to keep moving.
8 mile run yesterday. Felt good and might just finish that half marathon next week.
Weights 2x - DONE. Wow I have no more muscle. Painful!
Yoga studios - Decided not to pursue this right now.
Dropped 1.5 lbs. Put a piece of paper on my fridge with my goal weight and the goal date to remind myself to think about what I'm about to eat.

This week:
Lead up to half marathon: 15 miles with rest day two days before and short run day before.
Weights 2x
Drop another 1.5 lbs

I had a decent week.. I accomplished half my goals last week.

TTH - Trainer ride for 50 min (CHECK)
WF - Swim 50 min and Run 30 min (WED. - SWIM AND RUN, FRI. - RUN 55 MIN )
Physical Therapy on Th, Fri ( Was suppose to do MTWThF)
On the plus side.... I did my first run race on my own (Cross Country Obstacle Course) since my tragedy on Sunday... I'm hurting today but it was fun!

This week:
Trainer - 2x @ least 50 min
Swim - 2x @ 50 min
Run - 2x @ least 30 min
Yoga - 1x (Trying to start doing this)
CROSS COUNTRY RACE ON SUNDAY TO FINISH THE WEEK!

Working out is helping me deal with stress and depression. I can't wait for Helena to be able to join me on my short runs. She did my warmup for my race on Sunday and absolutely loved it... So I'm hoping come this spring she'll b ready..

Jean, things I use for distractions: reading, crossword puzzles, surfing ST, watching TV, playing a game if there is someone else around, taking a shower, napping, doing dishes/laundry/other housework.

I taught a weight management class for years, 1 trick I found worked amazing for the sugar cravings:

brush your teeth.

the entire action totally changes what happening in your brain, and the minty fresh mouth kills the sugar thing.
