Watches. Need the Womens opinions
Hello All,

Would like to purchase a couple ladies watches for Christmas. I stare at the selection like a deer in the headlights. Need to see which ones the womens tend to like. Thanks for your input.

According to the Lavender Room we womens like the Rolexes, but with this crowd, we might hear you say, "watch," but think, "Garmin."

What's your general price range, and who are the intended recipients? This will help us better narrow it down for you.

Oh, too funny. I went to go get dinner off the stove before hitting, "post," and it appears my sentiments were correct!

At least I am not the only one.

With that sweet harming, maybe the watch count went up by one. What model is that?

Hi clm, that's a sweet watch. Hope all is well in Nashville

Buying two for relatives, no real budget but a nice everyday watch that can be seen by older eyes is preferable. Thanks all

I have this one and it is the first non-sports watch I've worn daily in 10 years. I love it.

It is large but that is the style now. It is stainless steel so it has heft and I don't worry about being a little rough with it. I get a lot of compliments on it.

I'm very interested to see the Bia when it comes out. I don't wear a watch at all and for training use a Polar (HRM) with no GPS but that Bia is pretty and interesting.

What kind of watch? Sport or daily. I've worn a simple Gucci for the past 17 years. They last and look elegant without being too ostenatious.

My mother has a Tag Heuer Aquaracer. It's an awesome watch and has held up nicely to daily wear. She's in her 60s with bifocals but can read it just fine.

I don't know if you're joking about not knowing the model or not. I am such a freakin' tridork, it didn't even occur to me that I would need to include that. 910xt, and it is AWESOME! I'm guessing by your screen name you swim, right? It gives great swim data, short course, long course, yds/meters, OWS, stroke count, swolf, lap intevals. And that's just the swim stuff. I mean, I LOVE mine. Funny part though, it sucks as a regular watch.

BTW, "sweet harming"? What's that? Stupid autocorrect?

My everyday watch is this:

They sell them through Sundance

Thanks for all the ideas and links. The aquaracer is cool.

The "sweet harming" was supposed to be sweet Garmin. While I would like to be a tech geek, I buy them for all the bells and whistles and either give them away or they sit in the garage after a week.

Thanks again for all the insight

HAHAHAHA. No, you are the most anti-tech geek I know.

What about something like this?

Are we suppose to wear anything other than a sports watch? I love my Soma because it is slanted so I can see it better...the only time I take it off is to put on my farming for some workouts. I cannot live without a lighted watch...it is the way to find my way to the bathroom in the middle of the night when staying in hotels

My husband got me a Michele watch for mother's day. I absolutely love it! I get a TON of compliments.

I am clearly in the minority here, but when I am wearing a watch that is not made by Garmin, Timex, or Speedo, I wear an antique Lady Elgin bracelet watch. My grandfather bought it for my grandmother -- I love it, but both of my sisters thought it was "too girly" for them. Point being, check out your womens' other jewelry and see if they like fragile girlie things like this, more solid less overtly jewelry-like (such as the Movado, which my dad tried to give me instead of the Elgin, or Gucci), or cute things (like Swatch, my Mom's favorite -- she must have 10 of them).
