That's exactly what we were doing. We had a respectful debate about you and your need to post that picture. If you want to see disrespectful posts, then we can start a thread in the LR about it.

I'm sorry that the only contribution you can make to this forum is to post pictures like that or to criticize this thread. I'm sure you have much more to contribute here, but I doubt we'll ever get to see it.

She is correct. There are numerous examples in this thread of posts "that are not welcoming or supportive". Just a bunch of jealous Womens slinking off to their little club to bad mouth a younger more attractive female that likes to have fun. She appears to be having a good time at your expense in the real forum.

to be honest, if this was a debate, there would be some critical theory gender analysis and how that thread is representative of the misogyny that characterizes society in general.

This forum is not professionally moderated. It has moderators, but they have normal lives and jobs like the rest of us. The way this forum works is if someone has a problem with a post in here, they can just PM the moderators and then something will be done about it. Not every post is analyzed to see if it's appropriate. It's up to the posters who have problems to make it known to the moderators. If TriSherry has a problem with what is being written in this thread, then she just has to PM the moderators to do something about it.

I think it's quite funny that she posts a thread such as she did on the main forum, which was clearly just done to get attention from the guys there, and then she is upset when some of us call her on it. So what you're saying is if I'm at all critical of her, then I'm automatically jealous? Give me a freakin' break. I feel bad for her that she needs to do that in order to feel good about herself. I hope that one day she grows up enough to feel good in her own skin. Until then, if she posts it, then I'm going to comment on it.

The real question is whether TriSherry is really a woman or not. It's possible that it's a guy who snagged a random picture somewhere...it would be a shame to be criticizing some stranger who doesn't really exist.

Yea you really called her on it by running behind her back to your little club where your clique can enforce the rules as they see fit. I imagine she feels fine about herself and given she has been a member of Slowtwitch longer than you and never posted a pic like this before probably doesn't really crave the attention. This is one of those threads that will lead to nowhere good and should never have been started - bad decision by OP.

You're missing the point about the moderators. The rules are enforced the same for everyone. If TriSherry has a problem with this thread, all she has to do is speak up and PM one of the moderators.

Someone doesn't know how to read a calendar. Trisherry registered on 12/18/03 and has 48 whole posts. I registered on 4/2/03 and have 3,878 posts. What was your point again?

it starts by belittling your feelings - a common practice in the objective/subjective construction of the male/female dialectic that prizes emotional detachment over emotional involvement - that you find the objectification of women offensive. it then continues by portraying you and those with similar views to yours as a marginalized fringe group - "your little club". it then finishes off with the implication that discussing ones feelings - a "female" trait in the male-female dialectic - is not acceptable in male-dominated society.

You know, now that I think about it, I was probably too harsh in my criticism of TriSherry. I do think her post is a bit sad and I wish she didn't have the need to post it, but I'm guessing that she's probably just young and foolish and is looking to have some fun with the guys on ST. Pretty harmless, I guess. I know that I did lots of stupid things when I was younger (yes, I'm one of those 40+ folks that Trisherry was talking about) and I'm just glad the internet wasn't around to record it for all eternity.

Ooops you are correct - you have been a member longer however my point that she obviously does not have a propensity to post pictures of herself given her length of time here still stands. Anyway lets move on cuz both of us have better things to do and will never agree on this.
