I totally agree on The Women's. I'm more than happy to answer repetative questions that come up here. I'm all about helping other women get into the sport.

I think we all need to be a little more active over here. We can always branch out from triathlon specific questions as long as we stay away from politics, religion and posting porn. :-) There is another room for all that crap.

We've had a couple awesome threads from way back that had nothing to do with triathlon. I'll revive a few of them. Going back and re-reading is always a riot.

Grrl power!

Edited to add: I promise not to revive any of the water snake threads. They got completely out of hand.

love your story! i have a similar one, but without the happy ending...well, there's a sort of happy ending...

couple years ago i was out running and a car comes up behind me. young guy sticks his head out the window and yell at me "jiggle, jiggle..."

rest of the run i was trying to figure out what the hell he was talking about. i don't have a big butt or big boobs so what was jiggling?? i definitely assumed whatever it was, it was not good.

decided to consult with my then SO for his opinion. his take, "jiggle, jiggle" was a good thing. i wasn't buying it.

now a new SO...i've asked him his interpretation (yes, i still think about it). his take is more like mine...not really a good thing.

sort of happy ending is that the whole concept of "jiggle, jiggle" has provided us with lots of laughs...especially when said slowly...jiggle, jiggle... it's now a running joke (pun unintended, but i like it...)

somewhat amusing anecdote that relates to the above:

some friends of ours were camping at a conservation area about 35km from our place, and had invited us to come out and visit them on saturday afternoon. it being a gorgeous day, tanker decided he wanted to ride his motorcycle, and i figured i'd use it as a training ride. we both rode out, had some fun around the campfire with our friends, and then went to head home. tanker passed me about 5mins away from the conservation area as i was panting my way up a hill, blew me a kiss, and said he'd see me at home.

a few minutes later 4 young lads (maybe seniors in highschool or 1st/2nd year university age) in a little red hatchback pulled up beside me and matched speed. the boy in the rear passenger seat hollered something i could barely hear over the wind and my (volume very low) mp3 player as i looked over to see who was pacing me. sounded kind of like "you're a horse ass"! not figuring this was worth a response, i looked away and just kept pedaling.

got to a stoplight a few minutes later, and look who's stopped at the red light! i pulled up beside the car, pulled one earbud out, and asked him in a pissed-off tone if he'd care to repeat what he said while i could hear him. his reply:

"you're gorgeous!"

i managed to stammer out a "thanks" whilst turning red, as the light went green and they took off. i'd just automatically assumed that these young fellows would be making fun of me riding along with my rump in the air, and was astounded to find out one of them was trying to pay me a compliment! perfect example of perception vs. reality.

cheers!

Pardon the intrusion but i can't stand to come one here or log on and see the words 'Brain Fart' on the screen, it gives Slowtwitch such the juvenile effect.

It's not about the bike, it's just along for the ride.

Is "Sugar" your bike's name (which would be very cool) or your SO's name (which also could be very cool)?
