I recently had a physical and asked my dr if their was any sort of increased risk for complications/side effects of the pill when doing intense training (ironman). She seemed to believe that excercise would decrease the chance for a blood clot. However, reading posts here and hearing other stories it seems that this may not be true.... any thoughts?
Second question is sort of related and has to do with performance. I am not sure if it is mental but I really think that the pill affects performance. I feel like my vo2 max is lower when taking the pill among other things. For example, i have days in the pool where i have incredible heaviness/tightness in my chest in pool and running. The days I am not taking the pill during the month I feel much better on my workouts (is this mental?). In addition, at times I feel like I am much less aggressive and competitive in races when on the pill (mental?).
I have been on and off the pill in the last few year. Had PR at Ironman while off the pill. I am taking Yaz...also, have asthma so take Advair and provental....
Thanks!
