So, the saga of what to wear continues. I ordered a trisuit from swimoutlet.com, specifically this (blue and black). I got one with no black on the front (like this but all light blue). I had this muled down to wear for the HIM tomorrow. I really don't like the color and if I had known they were going to send me the one they did, I never would have bought it. However, if I use it in the HIM I can't return it (which will involve finding someone to mule it back). I also will need to find something here to wear. Ugh. So, WWYD and what responsibility do you think swimoutlet has ?

i'd return it-just wear you're old suit from last race? but I'd for sure return it- you can try calling customer service and see if they won't send you a prepaid return shipping bill since it was THEIR mistake

Call their customer service and explain the situation. I think if you got a DeSoto one piece tri that is all one color, it must be an older or different model than the one you linked to.

Swimoutlet shipped me the wrong item once and on another occasion shipped me two of one item and left out another item. Both times it took a bit to get it sorted out, but while we did that, they went ahead and shipped what I needed at no additional charge. I know it's too late for that, but maybe they can accommodate you in some other way.

Me, I would be reluctant to wear a brand new suit on race day anyway. (Nothing new on race day.)

Unfortunately I don't have an old one. this was to be my first one. And it would be an international call....

The problem is international shipping. Stuff just doesn't arrive here. And, I ALWAYS do something new race day. :) It is a tradition. :)

I would call them, tell them you HAVE to wear the suit, but you would like to exchange it. It's their goof, and if you're not a habitual returner they will most likely help you. Swimoutlet has excellent customer service... I bought a SwimMan waterproof ipod, which stopped working after a couple months. I was able to exchange it for a new one without any hassle.

Let us know how it works out, and good luck with your race!

thanks. Can't call their number from here but tried live chat. Pretty much I'm less than impressed but I'll try to return it and see what happens.

I guess only if you live in the US. :) They refunded my shipping (except I didn't pay shipping) and offered me 15% discount (13.50 USD). What I really want is the suit I ordered. I think I'm going to have to have someone in the US call them.

OMFG! THREE times they have sent this suit and THREE TIMES IT WAS THE WRONG ONE. You can't even order the suit they keep sending me from their website. They're nice as pie when I contact them, but Jesus H. Christ, what is it going to take to get the right one? Thankfully, I'm no longer having anything from them sent to me, but instead to my parents in the US so I can avoid incredible multiple customs and international shipping fees for the Wrong Fucking Item.

So, if you need something in a timely manner and it HAS TO BE WHAT YOU ORDERED, don't order from them. If you can deal with the wrong item being sent or your order is not timely, feel free to use them.

If you do not live in the United States, I would never order from them, especially if you have to pay customs and international shipping.

Holy cow. That's pretty surprising to me. Kudos for slogging through all of it with them. That's an impressive track record of failure.

We ordered a bunch of stuff from them a couple of months ago & it all showed up with no issue. I've bought a few suits from them over time that I've liked, but there's a reason they've been on the sale rack which I should know going in.

Hang in there slugger.....at this point it might be best to just return it & go elsewhere? Is that a possibility?

Kathy,
I had a similar mess earlier this year, and it took months to sort out. Ultimately, I think the problem was that they had the wrong picture of the item on the order page. SwimOutlet was convinced it was sending me the right item (and they were, going by inventory ID) and I kept getting the wrong item (going by the picture).
