There is an entire mountain range out the back door and Dan and Monty have lots of suggestions for trail runs.

What about races? I have one scheduled for the 10th but would be into doing one down there instead.

Dan and Monty would know better but the closed town is 40 minutes away. It really is in the middle of nowhere.

Palmdale and Lancaster are both easy drives from where we stay.

Jen, you're also a little over 90 minutes north and east of Los Angeles, if that helps.

Hmm....I found a 12/24 hour in Calabasa, CA but it seems that is in the wrong direction. Maybe we'll have to have a DIY ultra :)

Calabasas is just a little over an hour away, so very doable for a local race.

Ooo....the 12 hour would be awesome cuz I instigator and I could bail at whatever mileage we wanted to.

I still have to get my employment settled before I buy any tickets but it is on my schedule as tentative. Hopefully it works out.

We missed you two years ago and I personally was looking forward to meeting you.

Hope you can make it this year. Walking out the door will be trail running, so prepare to step around lizards, snakes, and if close to water, maybe a bear!

April 15-17

I may be leaving the week after that to go to France, so I'll have to wait and see.

I will be bringing several bottles from the Sonoma Valley vineyards back to Spring Training Camp to share with the Womens.

Jordan Rapp and World Bicycle Relief are responsible for my good fortune, which I hope to share with you.

It looks like training camp is definately out for me this year. I am starting a new job (YAY) Feb 14th and taking time off so soon wouldn't be smart. At least I have a happy reason this time. Last time I was unemployed and before that my husband had Swine Flu. Ugh, that sucked.

Fingers crossed for next year!

I'm so out it isn't even funny. I expect to be broke for a few months post IMNZ and am looking at possibly changing jobs (read: little to no vacation time for a while). :-(

I'm trying to get the owner of this hardware to join us for training camp. She raced with the likes of Paula Newby-Fraser and JulieAnne White in the early nineties.

She doesn't yet own a tri-bike and gave up racing in part because her her Bianchi fit so poorly. I have been dragging her kicking and screaming out of retirement to train with me (there isn't much help of this caliber in nowhere, KS)

I just booked my flight for myself and the mystery guest.

Between Cathy, myself, and my coach, there are over 150 years of life experience. Are there any eager young womens lurking in ST-land to administer CPR to us old geezers at the top of those infamous hill climbs???

BTW, Monty, she says she remembers you from back in the day...
