We added these last month, here is a reminder:

Please note: When topics and/or posts become offensive we will post a verbal warning or the thread will be LOCKED if people cannot respectfully discuss the topic. Under special circumstances (and after discussion amongst the moderators) posts and/or threads may be deleted.

Thank you!

I don't want to belabor the point, but we are still learning to moderate the forum and I think we left some threads up too long after insults were exchanged. This is my fault, I'm still smarting from when I got blasted about censorship from the political threads from a few weeks ago. Your suggestions are welcome on how to better moderate the forum.

And finally, a thread has been removed by special request. The removal was agreed upon by all three moderators.

Listen lady, stop bumping your own thread. This is getting ridiculous. We're going to have to consider banning you if this continues. :P

How do you post a verbal warning? isn't that a...written warning? ;)

I've been away from ST for a while. So can we still NOT talk politics at all here? that is why I stopped checking in, I didn't really like that move. And I still don't think there should be any censorship. Who is to decide what is 'offensive'?

The thread that was pulled was nothing related to politics. It pointed out a post in the LR that was very viscous and had no other purpose than to insult a poster to the Womens who was posting on a political thread in the LR. This drew more viscous insults from others who visited the Womens solely for the person who was being attacked.

It devolved into name calling and had absolutely nothing to do with triathlon or being female.

I initiated the post that called out the insult in the LR. The post was pulled at my request because it served no purpose other than to smear, insult and cause a disruption to the ST community as a whole. It was a post that never should have been made in the first place and for that I apologized to the moderators.

Threads like this wouldn't have been tolerated in any forum on ST. Threads over in those forums have been pulled for less. This was not a reflection of any censorship on the Womens, only a reflection of what will be tolerated on the entire ST forums.

I didnt ask about any pulled threads, I jsut asked if political posts not 'allowed'

but I DID see that thread that was pulled...it seems that you posted that over here for I dunno, to get sympathy or something? but it made no sense to me, if you dont like what people say about you then why re-post it? oh I guess that is why you deleted it!

but seriously you really need to chill.

In the welcome post at the top of the page:

Political topics belong in the Lavendar room, the moderators do not wish to moderate political discussions.

FYI - I just posted a really bitchy and possibly mean post in another discussion. I have read the rules and am hereby warning myself. It might have been a bit of a temper tantrum as I just finished running a little bit ago. Someone might want to be ready with the lock and delete.....I won't be offended. We all know and have faith that you the love is still there for the P3's. Sorry I hijacked the thread.

How about a negative split, 80 minute run with about an 8min pace the last mile (it doesn't sound fast to the gazelles, but it's darn quick for me...I'm a plodder, not a runner) and 45 minutes of icing knees, ankles and hips for precaution?? Run felt good, ice is cold, but I think the temper tantrum felt better than both...tee hee!

I totally missed whatever went on - now I am curious what you wrote! I did notice that all the nastiness was taken out - I thank the moderators for that. It did feel like rather a slap in the face to start what I thought was a fun thread and have it turn into attack mode...

I actually wish I had it back too as some of the snippets were funny and overall I still think it was very truthful. But when read as a whole it would probably have started a firestorm and gotten some people fired up. Which - while entertaining - is not the point. But it was impressively fast how quickly it was killed. I didn't even get a chance to copy it - drat!

There will probably be more temper tantrums in the future, have no fear. I'm not a big fan of the ladies being picked on - just or unjust - in our own house. Plus my taper starts in 2 weeks. That always makes for good times!
