Leakage
I ran a half marathon today in which the line ups for the bathroom and port-a-potties were long, so I decided that my 'I could pee' was urgent and didn't go right before the race.

As the race went on, I had to pee more.

I had leakage. I was running hard, and it made me leak.

My husband (who I was running with) says guys do not experience this.

Sometimes if I really have to pee and sneeze or cough I leak too.

Should I do more kegel exercises? I think I'm fairly tight (so to speak) but...what gives? And have never had a child, if that helps.

Stress urinary incontinence is quite common in us ladies, even among young, fit, never-had-a-baby athletes. We just don't talk about it enough - and it doesn't happen to the guys.

You're right, strengthening your pelvic floor muscles (kegel exercises) is the best way to decrease stress urinary incontinence & running with an empty bladder or wearing a light pad for race events where you're going hard.

Yeah. Usually I have the opposite problem in terms of having to go to the bathroom. I actually walked for 20 metres near the end, partially because I was tired, partially because I was like 'OMG LEAKS'

More kegel exercises!
