If you couldn't S/B/R, what would be your sport of choice?
Ok ladies (and gentlemen!), you wake up tomorrow and there is no such thing as swimming, biking, or running. What sport would you take up?

My answer: mixed marital arts.

Tennis. I played in high school and loved it. I haven't played much since.

Go back to equestrian sports-3 day eventing, in particular. Dressage, cross-country, and show jumping.

I would kick your ass at this, Thompson.

:)

Seriously though - outrigger paddling. It was my first sport, and I paddled ten years. I'll go back when the kids are old enough for me to be on a team again.

Nordic ski racing. I've been doing it since the mid-90s. This year I'll be coaching a team for the first time.

Hell, I don't know. I used to play ultimate frisbee in college and switched to tri because ultimate tore up my knees. Anything side to side will tear up my knees. I guess yoga or set up the male division of M&M eating. I would specialize in the peanut butter M&M division though.

Rowing. Gotta do something with the swimmer shoulders and cycling quads...Played around a small bit with this in college and would LOVE to get into it more. But who REALLY needs another expensive hobby sport when we've already got three?

I thought about rowing, but I have an issue with not seeing where I'm going.

Water Polo.

Kung Fu - or something where I could beat up on people.

MotoCross

Evidently, I like sports where I can inflict some whoop ass on others.

I'd try to take on Jodi and Runlikeamother with the M&M contest... I don't buy them since I will eat them ALL, no matter how big or small the bag...

I'd have to go with hiking and mountaineering. Both the hubby and I are into both of those, so we could do those together.

Does that include any kind of cycling? Since we know the track would win.

Or, boxing or MMA.

Big, smooth lakes are important. You learn to look sideways and judge distance traveled (and drift from side-to-side) when judging from a fixed point you left from. I kept the shoreline about 25yds to my left and the dock right behind the boat...usually went fairly straight. Such a relaxing, quiet, methodical time - but way too early in the am.

I would totally crew on a sailboat, also.

Soccer (although you need to run to play it so I guess that's out).

BRING IT!!! I hereby propose a (post) Kona M&M eating contest! Remote competitors may also join on a strict honour system program.

(Yes, I fully expect to get my ass handed to me by the womens. It won't be the first time, nor will it be the last. I'm at peace with that)

As far as non SBR sports, I dig (and do) the following:

biathlon
XC skiing
Dh skiing
Escrima (and other martial arts)
ocean paddling

if by some miracle I were granted new (stable) shoulders I'd get back into:

climbing
whitewater paddling
lacrosse
