thank you all for your sympathies. yesterday was a tough day (making arrangements and going with my mum to provide positive ID of the remains), but we got a lot accomplished so today is my "day off" from dealing with the administration side of things. i finally get my new bedroom furniture this evening (the bedroom ceiling was finished yesterday and the room has been cleaned, including shampooing the carpet), so at least tonight i'll have a real bed again.
i'm still actually doing a little bit of training (just 30min easy workouts) since it helps with stress relief, and i still plan to race a sprint on saturday for which i signed up back in march that will take us out of town friday night. my husband and i will be working an aid station on the half iron run course on sunday, too, so we get a bit of a weekend away before the visitation on monday and memorial service tuesday. some good friends of ours have their daughter (also a friend to us) visiting from germany at the moment and have invited us and many of the people with whom we're very close to a party on sunday, so we'll stop in on our way home from volunteering and have a bit of a wake for my dad among friends who know what he meant to me.
thanks again for the condolences.
