I saw AndyPants on the course with not one, but two flats so she bagged it. She was going to do the sprint on Sunday, so hopefully she'll chime in here with an update on that. I totally agree with the mile markers on the run, wtf? I also set a 40 minute PR for the distance despite a craptacular run. (I'd like to blame the mileage markers, but that was all me... ) Race report is up on my blog for anyone who's interested.

Michelle, nice job at the race and congrats on your PR! One camping tip most people don't think of: always bring ear plugs. Some friends recently had a fun night camping when the couple next to them had loud relations throughout the night. You definitely want ear plugs for that!

Wow, that's bad! Oh, how I wish I could sleep with ear plugs. I had a ton of ear infections as a kid and now I can't stand wearing earplugs or having water in my ears, etc. Prior to this trip, we had a group of people engage in a drunken belching contest, which would have been funny had it not been so gross. My friend Martha pulled out her best "mom" voice and told them it was time to settle down which worked remarkably well. We also have the dogs for escalation - that toxic lab gas has to be good for something!

Funny you should mention that... I'll never not leave home without earplugs again.

And to the couple (racing porn stars?) in room 2006 of the Park Center Hotel in Enumclaw on Friday night, thanks for waking us up at 10PM, and again at 6:15AM with your disgusting noises, and pounding of the headboard against our walls. We really enjoyed that display of douchebaggery while trying to sleep for our races. PS. To the chick, you suck at faking the big O.

This was my first HIM. Except for the margin mile marking on the run I thought this was a very well run race. I had no confusion at all about where I was supposed to go. The volunteers were great. I would do this one again in a minute.

We came up in the RV. We stayed in a run down, but quiet place about 15 miles from the race. I was really glad to have the RV after the race so I could shower and collapse.

Btw, I managed to come in first for my age group. I can't believe it.
