It works the same as castor, Vitamin E oils and coco butter, which are much cheaper. I too have a lot of scars from being hard on my body and have found them all to work equal in clearing them up but not disappear.

When I had shoulder surgery a nurse told me that I should go to a drugstore and get a no-name bottle of vitamin E capsules and break one open every morning/night and rub the stuff on my scars to make them fade. I kinda dig scars so I didn't bother, but you might try that first...
