Free Bone Density Scans with UCLA Research Study

Free bone density scans and body fat composition measure!

If you are a healthy male triathlete or cyclist between the ages of 18-65, you may be eligible to participate in a research study conducted by the UCLA School of Nursing.

The study is conducted by Leah FitzGerald, PhD from the UCLA School of Nursing. This research will study the effects of exercise and chemicals in your blood and their relationship to bone density.

Study Participants will receive: bone density testing, blood draw and genetic testing.

Please call (310) 206-5462 for more information or to complete a 5 to 10 minute telephone screening interview.

Too bad that you're not including over 1/2 of the human population in your study. Please post again when the womens are going to be counted as worthy of a graduate student's time...

This is the PC stuff that really stifles our system. Having a women's only forum on here isn't sexist? Perhaps they need to control for a certain variable not possible regarding women, besides the study is being conducted by a woman.

We are specifically looking for male triathletes and cyclist because there isn't much research regarding osteoporosis or osteopenia in males, much less male athletes. The majority of the literature that we have come across focuses on females with osteoporosis, leaving an opportunity to look at male triathlete/cyclist population as part of this pilot portion of our study. Although we are currently focusing on the male population that is not to say that we will not be recruiting females in the future.
